Live subtitles & comprehension aid

The glasses that display conversations as subtitles.

The person opposite you speaks — and you read what is said as a subtle line of text in your field of view. The Even G2 makes spoken language readable and helps you follow conversations, meetings and talks more easily. An honest comprehension aid for everyday life — explicitly not a hearing aid and not a medical device.

How live subtitles work in the Even G2

The Even G2 listens through its microphones to what is being said, converts it into text and displays what is said as live subtitles in your field of view — on a discreet, monochrome green micro-LED display that only you see. No phone in your hand, no app on the table: you keep eye contact and simply read along with the conversations as text.

This helps in situations where listening becomes tiring — when the restaurant is busy, when several people talk over each other in a meeting, or when the sentences come fast in a talk. Honestly: transcription works best with clear speech and little background noise. With loud noise, several simultaneous voices or a very fast pace, delays and errors can occur. The subtitles are a support, not a perfect word-for-word record.

Who live subtitles make everyday life easier for

In our consultations, there are above all three groups for whom reading along makes a noticeable difference:

  • People who are hard of hearing: When a quiet voice or a crowded room makes understanding difficult, what is said becomes readable as text — a little more participation in the conversation. The G2 does not replace a hearing aid here, but can complement one.
  • Non-native speakers: Anyone following a fast foreign language reads along as well, instead of missing individual words — helpful in international meetings, at university or when travelling.
  • Anyone in loud environments: trade fair, building site, train station, packed venue — wherever listening is a struggle, the running text helps you stay in the conversation.

Important: a comprehension aid, not a hearing aid

We say it deliberately clearly: the Even G2 is not a hearing aid and not a medical device. It does not amplify sound and does not treat any hearing impairment — it shows spoken words as text. We make no clinical, diagnostic or efficacy claims. If you are looking for a medical or audiological solution, the right place to go is your ENT practice or a hearing-aid acoustician. The G2 can complement such care in everyday life, but does not replace it.

Discreet by definition: no camera

Unlike reading along on a phone screen, with the Even G2 nothing sits visibly between you and the person opposite. And unlike many AI glasses, the G2 has no camera — it does not film the room and does not record any images. For everyone in the conversation this means: no one has to wonder whether they are being filmed. The G2 looks like a high-quality designer pair of glasses and works like one too — with prescription lenses in your prescription (UltraFit, from CHF 169.–) if you wish.

FAQ

Is the Even G2 a hearing aid?

No. The Even G2 is not a hearing aid and not a medical product. It does not amplify sound; instead it displays what is said as live subtitles in your field of view — a comprehension aid for everyday life. We make no clinical, diagnostic or therapeutic claims. Whether it suits your situation is best decided after a test in the showroom.

How reliable are the subtitles in noise or with fast speech?

Live transcription works best with clear speech and little background noise. In very loud environments, with a strong dialect, several people speaking at once or a very fast pace, delays and errors can occur. The subtitles are a support, not a perfect word-for-word record — which is why we recommend trying the feature out free of charge beforehand.

Can the person opposite me see the subtitles — and does the pair of glasses have a camera?

No and no. The discreet monochrome green micro-LED display is visible only to the wearer; from the outside the G2 looks like a normal pair of glasses. And the Even G2 has no camera — it does not film the room. Unlike reading along on a phone screen, nothing sits visibly between you and the person opposite.

Which languages are shown as text?

The G2 can transcribe speech and optionally translate it; the available languages and the quality depend on the current software and are not guaranteed for every language. In the showroom we show you honestly how well it works in your preferred language before you decide.

Can I try the live subtitles before buying?

Yes. At our showroom in the Villa Zeltweg, Zeltweg 74, 8032 Zürich, you can put on the Even G2 free of charge and with no obligation and read the live subtitles for yourself. The G2 costs CHF 699.– in Switzerland incl. 8.1% VAT, with a 14-day right of return and a 2-year warranty. Appointments: sales@ai-eyewear.ch or +41 78 422 46 73.
