Smart glasses are a purchase for everyday wear. That’s why fit and usefulness decide your satisfaction, not top technical figures. Work through this list one point at a time.
01Purpose first
Be clear about what you really want to use the glasses for: navigation, translation, notes and teleprompter, photo/video or a virtual screen? The purpose determines the category — display, camera or AR glasses. Skip this and you buy past your needs.
02Comfort — do try them on
Weight, fit and balance decide whether you’re still wearing the glasses after an hour. Numbers on a spec sheet say little; ten minutes on your nose say everything. Look for light materials — the Even G2, for instance, uses Magnesium and Titan at around 36 grams. Try before you buy.
03Display or camera?
A worn camera quickly becomes a delicate matter at work, on public transport or in conversation. If you want discreet assistance and don’t want to unsettle those around you, choose a display pair without a camera. More on this in our privacy guide.
04Prescription & corrective lenses
If you wear a visual aid, the question is decisive: can prescription lenses be integrated? For the Even G2 there are UltraFit lenses in single-vision and varifocal versions — turning the smart glasses into a full everyday pair. Check the available prescription range.
05Running costs & subscriptions
Some providers tie core features to a subscription. Do the maths over the period of use: a cheap entry price with an expensive subscription can cost more in the end. At Even Realities the features are included in the purchase price, with no ongoing fees.
06Language & AI quality
Check that the voice assistant, translation and transcription handle German well — not just English. Ideally test it live with your own way of speaking. The Even G2 supports German on the display, in Even AI and in real-time translation.
07Warranty & service in Switzerland
With an import, you handle warranty cases with the manufacturer overseas. With the authorised Swiss partner you have a local point of contact, pay in francs including VAT and save on customs and import tax. Details in the guide Smart glasses Switzerland.
Price guidance for Switzerland: Even G2 CHF 699.– incl. case & VAT.
Even R1 Smart Ring CHF 269.– · Prescription lenses (UltraFit) from CHF 169.– · Sun clip CHF 99.–.
No subscriptions, no hidden running costs. 2 years manufacturer’s warranty in Europe, handled through us as your Swiss point of contact.
The best test is still trying them on
All seven criteria can be settled in a single appointment. In our showroom in Zürich you can put on the G2, test navigation, translation and Even AI, sort out prescription lenses and get an honest assessment — even when smart glasses aren’t (yet) the right thing for your situation.
